Devin is Cognition's managed AI software engineer for teams that want to delegate scoped engineering work to cloud and desktop agents. It can plan tasks, inspect repositories, write and run code, execute tests, open pull requests, review its own output, and collaborate through the tools engineering teams already use. The current product surface includes Devin Cloud, Devin Desktop, Devin CLI, Devin Review, Windows VM support, DeepWiki, Ask Devin, and API/automation workflows.
Devin is strongest when the buyer wants teammate-style delegation rather than an editor-side assistant. Cognition positions it for code migration and refactors, PR review and visual QA, documentation and system diagrams, scheduled chores, issue triage, bug fixing, CI failure repair, and multi-week or multi-repo projects. Devin integrates with GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, Linear, Jira, Slack, Teams, Datadog, Sentry, and other enterprise tools so agents can pick up tickets, produce PRs, and respond inside team workflows.
Pricing has moved beyond the old Team-plan framing. Current public Devin pricing lists a Free plan, Pro at $20/month, Max at $200/month, Teams at $80/month for the team plan plus $40/month per full dev seat, and Enterprise custom. This makes Devin more accessible than the older $500/month Team entry point, but it is still best evaluated as a managed delegated-engineering platform rather than a free/open-source coding agent runtime.
