What each product is
Lovable describes itself as a full-stack AI development platform for building, iterating on and deploying web applications using natural language. A prompt produces an app with frontend, backend, database, authentication and integrations, all backed by editable code. Projects live in shared workspaces, and each project produces a codebase that can sync to GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket.
Base44 calls itself a no-code AI platform for building full-stack apps, websites and AI agents. Its docs say a managed backend, authentication, integrations and hosting are built in. Base44 also offers Superagents that work across connected tools, and a developer platform with an SDK, CLI, backend service and MCP server. Wix acquired Base44 on June 18, 2025, and said it would keep operating as a distinct product.
Pricing models compared
Lovable is priced by credits, not by seats or projects, and every plan supports unlimited workspace members. Free includes 5 daily build credits (up to 30 a month). Pro starts at $25/month for 100 monthly credits, and Business starts at $50/month for 100 credits. Both scale through tiers up to 10,000 credits a month, and annual billing gives two months free. Enterprise uses volume-based pricing.
Base44 uses two credit types: message credits for AI messages and integration credits for integration actions. Free includes 25 message credits and 100 integration credits a month, with up to 5 apps. On yearly billing, Starter is $16/month (100 message credits), Builder $40/month (250), Pro $80/month (500) and Elite $160/month (1,200). Starter costs $20 billed monthly, yearly billing saves 20% across paid plans, and Enterprise is custom.
- Lovable: one shared credit balance per workspace covers building, chat, Cloud hosting and in-app AI features.
- Base44: message credits and integration credits are tracked separately, and usage varies by action and the AI model selected.
- Both offer student discounts. Lovable gives 50% off its 100-credit monthly Pro plan for up to 12 months, and Base44 lists 50% off select plans for students and educators.
Code ownership and developer workflow
Lovable includes Git sync on every plan, including Free. Editing and downloading code, custom domains and badge removal start on Pro. Lovable can also be driven from its desktop and mobile apps, from Slack or Telegram, and through the Lovable MCP server.
Base44 says you own your code, data and users, and that two-way GitHub sync exports the full source code at any time. GitHub integration and AI model selection are listed from the Builder plan up, and in-app code edits from Starter up. Developers can also work through Base44's SDK, CLI and MCP server.
Integrations and AI agents
Base44 puts integrations at the center. Its pricing page names Gmail, Slack, Notion, Google Drive, HubSpot and Salesforce, and gives each plan a monthly allowance of integration credits. You can build AI agents inside apps, or Superagents that work across connected tools.
Lovable offers connectors, including some billed through Lovable credits when set to Managed by Lovable, and a built-in AI gateway that powers AI features inside deployed apps. That usage draws from a monthly AI grant first and then from general credits.
Teams, security and governance
Lovable publishes a detailed plan matrix. Business adds SSO, role-based access, a security center and design templates. Enterprise adds SCIM, audit logs, data exports and EU inference. Lovable lists SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001:2022 and GDPR compliance.
Every Base44 plan includes multi-user editing and collaboration. Paid tiers mainly scale credits and add features such as model selection and beta access, and enterprise solutions go through sales. Base44's public pricing page does not list a comparable governance matrix, so teams with SSO or audit requirements should confirm details with Base44 sales.
Who should pick which
- Pick Lovable for team-built SaaS or internal tools where engineers will review generated code in Git and admins need SSO, SCIM or audit logs.
- Pick Base44 for no-code builders who want many app integrations, AI agents inside the app, and a cheaper yearly entry tier.
- Either works for prototypes. Run the same prompt on both free plans and compare credit burn before committing.
The Bottom Line
Lovable is the stronger fit for teams that treat generated apps as real codebases under Git and governance. Base44 is the more integration-centric no-code option, and its yearly paid tiers start lower. Test both on your own workload, because credit consumption varies by task on each platform.
