Available as a CLI for terminal-native developers (an extension of the Atlassian CLI, run with acli rovodev) and in VS Code and VS Code-compatible editors such as Cursor through the Atlassian extension, Rovo Dev goes beyond code generation to understand project goals, plan multi-step actions, and execute them across different parts of the development workflow. Transition notice: Atlassian states that Rovo Dev is reaching end of life as a standalone product, with its capabilities moving into eligible Jira and Teamwork Collection subscriptions. Atlassian promises at least 60 days' notice before the final end-of-life date, which had not been announced at the time of writing. Code Reviewer will be available with eligible Jira subscriptions and moves to Rovo Credits under Atlassian's usage-based pricing on December 3, 2026; Rovo Dev CLI is evolving into the unified Atlassian Rovo CLI; and standalone Rovo Dev IDE capabilities will be retired, while Jira and Bitbucket extensions such as AtlasCode remain supported. The Rovo Dev in Jira feature moved to Jira Coding Agent, available with paid Jira editions and billed in Rovo Credits, starting June 22, 2026. Existing Rovo Dev tools continue to work during the transition.
