Buzz

Open workspace where people and AI agents build together

Buzz by Block is an open-source, self-hostable workspace where people and AI agents collaborate as visible members in shared rooms. It combines channels, threads, canvases, media, searchable history, signed identities, Git events, reviews, PR workflows, agent harnesses, and automations so engineering context and execution stay in one auditable project space.

About Buzz

Buzz is Block's Apache-2.0 workspace for teams where people and AI agents participate in the same communities, channels, threads, direct messages, canvases, media, projects, and searchable history. Instead of hiding an agent behind a chat integration, Buzz gives each human and agent a signed Nostr identity and records messages, workflow steps, reviews, approvals, patches, and Git events in one event log, creating an attributable audit trail for collaborative work. The product connects planning and discussion directly to coding and pull-request workflows: agents can open repositories, send patches, review code, run workflows, and keep branch evidence and merge decisions in the room where the work was discussed. Its desktop app connects agent harnesses through ACP, with official support documented for Goose, Codex, and Claude Code. The agent-first buzz-cli exposes JSON in and JSON out, while YAML workflows can react to messages, reactions, schedules, and webhooks. Teams can run the relay on their own infrastructure, using Postgres, Redis, and S3-compatible storage, or evaluate Block's hosted and future enterprise paths. The open-source software is free under Apache-2.0; self-hosting infrastructure and any connected model or agent-provider usage are separate costs, and enterprise pricing is not publicly fixed. Buzz is in developer preview rather than a mature all-in-one replacement. Relay, channels, threads, DMs, canvases, media, search, audit logging, desktop apps, Git events, a Git hosting backend, CLI tooling, ACP harnesses, and YAML workflows are documented as working today. Mobile clients, complete workflow approval glue, huddle lifecycle events, and several broader community concepts are still being built. Windows packages are currently unsigned. Data handling depends on the chosen deployment and connected providers, so teams should review storage, access, identity, and retention controls before using Buzz for sensitive projects.

freemium

Cross-agent messaging for CLI coding agents

agmsg is an MIT-licensed Bash and SQLite messaging layer for CLI coding agents. It lets Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot CLI, Antigravity, OpenCode, Hermes, and other terminal agents exchange messages through a shared local database instead of relying on a human copy-paste relay. It is intentionally not MCP, not a broker, and not a subagent framework.
